It’s part of the fifth generation of Pokémon games alongside Pokémon Black and White, as well as Pokémon White 2. Pokemon Black Version 2 is a sequel to the original Pokémon Black, taking place in the same Unova region but offering a whole new story and gameplay experience to keep things fresh.
